Semiconductor based cooling device is not charged with refrigerant, so there’s no concern of refrigerant leakage problem. Besides, it stays intact when it is being shaken. However, since it is not charged with refrigerant, its refrigeration performance is not stable and easily affected by ambient temperature, voltage, mechanical pressure and other external elements.
As for compressor based water chiller, it is hard to start in extremely cold weather and is not suggested to be shaken. However, it is charged with refrigerant as the cooling medium, so the water temperature is adjustable and remains stale without being affected by the outside interference.
To sum up, compressor based water chiller has better refrigeration performance, for it is able to regulate water temperature.
