It is almost the end of 2018. This year, laser processing has become more and more popular and more and more traditional industries are introducing laser processing into their business.
Among those laser processing techniques, laser cutting is the most popular. At the same time, with the rapid development of laser cutting machine, the competitiveness in laser cutting industry is becoming stronger and stronger.
Commercialization of laser cutting machines in China started from the year 2000. At the beginning, all the laser cutting machines were imported from other countries. After the development of all these years, China is now capable of developing the core components of laser cutting machines independently.
Today, low-power laser market is mostly occupied by Chinese manufacturers with the market share of more than 85%. From 2010 to 2015, the cost of low-power laser cutter dropped by 70%. As for the medium-power lasers, domestic manufacturers have made technique breakthrough in the recent years and the market share has increased a lot and the domestic sales volume exceeded the import one for the first time in 2016.
However, in terms of high-power lasers, they have been entirely imported from other countries from the beginning. With the long and unstable delivery time and multiple restrictions of other countries, high-power laser cutting machines have always had the highest price.
But this year, the high-power laser domination by the foreign manufacturers was broken by a few outstanding domestic manufactures who managed to develop 1.5KW-6KW high-power laser. Therefore, it is expected that the price of high-power laser cutting machine will drop to a certain degree in 2019, which will increasing laser application in traditional industries.
With the rapid development of domestic laser cutting industry, the competition among the whole laser industry will become fiercer in 2019. Domestic laser manufacturers need to stand out by offering best product quality and prompt after-sales service in addition to price issue.
