How to Control the Chiller via ModBus RS-485

Remote Chiller Startup
By sending the startup command “2” from the host system, the chiller can be activated remotely. Once the command is received, the pump and compressor indicators illuminate, confirming that the fiber laser chiller has entered normal operating mode.

Intelligent Remote Parameter Control
The ModBus RS-485 protocol allows operators to remotely adjust key operating parameters, including laser cooling water temperature settings. For example, the laser circuit temperature can be set to 26°C directly through the host system. At the same time, the host can read real-time operating data from the chiller, including water temperature, water flow rate, and system operating status. This enables more precise temperature management and supports stable laser equipment performance.

Safe Standby and Shutdown Function
When standby mode is required, the host sends the command “1” to the chiller. The compressor stops first, while the water pump continues operating for an additional 30 seconds before shutting down safely. This delayed shutdown design helps improve operational safety and system reliability.
