What kind of industrial chiller is configured for the inductively coupled plasma spectrometry generator?

Mr. Zhong wanted to equip his ICP spectrometry generator with an industrial water chiller. He preferred the industrial chiller CW 5200, but the chiller CW 6000 can better meet its cooling needs. Inductively coupled plasma is a flame-like excitation light source generated by a high frequency induction current. The sample solution is sprayed into mist, then goes into the inner tube with the working gas, passes through the core of the plasma core region, dissociated into atoms or ions and then excited to emit the characteristic spectral line. The temperature of the operating zone can reach 6000-10000 degrees Celsius. Thus the internal part of the generator must be cooled simultaneously with the industrial water chiller, to prevent tube walls from melting and ensure the normal operation of the machine.


Our client Mr. Zhong wanted to equip his ICP spectrometry generator with a water chiller and required a cooling capacity of up to 1500W, water flow rate of 6L/min and outlet pressure >0.06Mpa. He preferred the industrial chiller CW 5200.


The cooling capacity of the industrial water chiller, is closely related to the ambient temperature and the inlet & outlet water temperature, and it will change with the increase of temperature. Based on the heat productivity and lift of the generator, plus the performance graphs of S&A chillers, it is found that industrial chiller CW 6000(with a cooling capacity of 3000W) is more suitable. After comparing the performance graphs of CW 5200 and CW 6000, our engineer explained to Mr. Zhang that the cooling capacity of chiller CW 5200 is insufficient for the generator, but CW 6000 can meet the demand. Lastly, Mr. Zhong believed in the professional recommendation of S&A and selected a suitable water chiller.
