Feel the temperature of the copper pipe at the evaporator inlet, which should be icy cold; if warm, inspect the solenoid valve. Observe temperature changes after removing the solenoid valve: a cold copper pipe indicates a faulty temp controller, while no change suggests a faulty solenoid valve core.
