Precautions and maintenance of S&A chiller

There are some precautions and maintenance methods for the industrial water chiller, such as using the correct working voltage, using the correct power frequency, do not run without water, cleaning it regularly, etc. Correct use and maintenance methods can ensure the continuous and stable operation of laser equipment.

June 21, 2022

1. Ensure the power socket is in good contact and the ground wire is reliably grounded before use.
Be sure to cut off the power supply of the chiller during maintenance.

2. Ensure the working voltage of the chiller is stable and normal!
The refrigeration compressor is sensitive to the power supply voltage, it is recommended to use 210~230V (the 110V model is 100~130V). If you need a wider operating voltage range, you can customize it separately.

3. The mismatch of power frequency will cause damage to the machine!
The model with 50Hz/60Hz frequency and 110V/220V/380V voltage should be selected according to the actual situation.

4. To protect the circulating water pump, it is strictly forbidden to run without water.

The water storage tank of the cold water case is empty before the first use. Please make sure that the water tank is filled with water before starting the machine (distilled water or pure water is recommended). Start the machine after 10 to 15 minutes after filling the water to prevent accelerated damage to the water pump seal. When the water level of the water tank is below the green range of the water level gauge, the cooling capacity of the cooler will drop slightly. Please ensure that the water level of the water tank is near the green and yellow dividing line of the water level gauge. It is strictly forbidden to use the circulating pump to drain! Depending on the environment of use, it is recommended to replace the water in the chiller once every 1~2 months; if the working environment is dusty, it is recommended to change the water once a month, unless antifreeze is added. The filter element needs to be replaced after 3~6 months of use.

5. Precautions of chiller use environment

The air outlet above the chiller is at least 50cm away from obstacles, and the side air inlets are at least 30cm away from obstacles. The working environment temperature of the chiller should not exceed 43℃ to avoid overheating protection of the compressor.

6. Clean the filter screen of the air inlet regularly

The dust inside the machine must be cleaned regularly, the dust on both sides of the chiller should be cleaned once a week, and the dust on the condenser should be cleaned once a month to prevent the blockage of the dust filter and the condenser from causing the chiller to malfunction.

7. Pay attention to the influence of condensed water!

When the water temperature is lower than the ambient temperature and the ambient humidity is high, condensation water will be generated on the surface of the circulating water pipe and the device to be cooled. When the above situation occurs, it is recommended to increase the water temperature or to insulate the water pipe and the device to be cooled.

The above are some precautions and maintenance for industrial chillers summarized by S&A engineers. If you want to know more about chillers, you can pay more attention to S&A chiller.
