With the high quality sterilization, UVC is well recognized by the worldwide medical industry. This has led to the increasing number of UV curing machine manufacturers, suggesting that applications that require UV LED curing technology is also rising. So how to choose a suitable UV curing machine? What should be taken into account?

1.Wavelength

The common UV LED curing wavelength includes 365nm, 385nm, 395nm and 405nm. The wavelength of the UV curing machine should match the one of the UV glue. For most of the industries that require UV glue, 365nm is the first choice and most of the UV curing machines produced by the manufacturers are also with 365nm wavelength. The second choice would be 395nm. Comparing with other wavelength, the requirement can be customized.

2.UV irradiation intensity

It is also known as illumination intensity (Wcm2 or mWcm2). It combines another factor to form the curing standard and that factor is illumination energy value (Jcm2 or mJcm2). There is one thing to be noticed that it is not the higher the irradiation intensity, the higher the curing effect. UV adhesive, UV oil or UV paint can achieve the best curing effect under certain range of illumination intensity. Too low illumination intensity will lead to insufficient curing but too high illumination intensity will not necessarily lead to better curing effect. The general intelligent portable UV curing machine has the ability to adjust output illumination intensity. And the changing of UV adhesive will make no difference to the curing needs. As for machines without these adjustment function, users can change the irradiation distance to adjust the illumination intensity. The shorter the distance of the irradiation, the higher the UV illumination intensity.

3.Cooling method

UV curing machine has 3 ways of heat dissipation, including automatic heat dissipation, air cooling and water cooling. The heat dissipation methods of UV curing machine is decided by the UV LED light power, electric power and the dimension. For automatic heat dissipation, the typical one is the point light source without cooling fan. As for air cooling, it is often used in UV adhesive curing applications. As for water cooling, it is often required for high power UV curing system. Those UV LED systems that use air cooling can also use water cooling for heat dissipation, which results in lower noise level and longer life for the UV LED systems.

The water cooling that UV curing machines or other UV LED systems apply often refers to industrial process chiller. Continuous and consistent water circulation can help take away the heat quite effectively from the core component of those machines - UV LED light.

S&A CW series industrial process chillers are widely used for cooling high power UV LED lights and offer cooling capacity up to 30kW. They are easy to use and designed with intelligent temperature control and alarm protection functions so that your UV LED systems can always achieve the best performance. As a reliable industrial water chiller manufacturer, we even provide 2 years of warranty so users can rest assured using our chillers.
