Winter chiller operation requires antifreeze measures to ensure stability. Following these guidelines can help you prevent freezing and safeguard your water chiller in cold conditions.


When the Temperature Is Below 0℃, Add Antifreeze: Antifreeze can lower the freezing point of the circulating water, preventing freezing and cracking of pipes and ensuring the sealing of the pipes. Therefore, when the temperature is below 0℃, promptly add antifreeze.
Antifreeze Mixing Ratio: To ensure the normal operation of the laser chiller, strictly control the ratio of antifreeze to water. The recommended ratio is 3:7.
*Tip: It is advised not to exceed 30% for the added antifreeze ratio to prevent pipe blockage and accessories corrosion due to high concentration.


Water Chiller Running 24 Hours: Keep the laser chiller continuously running 24 hours when the ambient temperature is below -15℃ to ensure continuous water circulation and prevent freezing.


Regular Inspections: Periodically check the chiller's cooling system, including cooling water pipes and valves, for any leaks or blockages. Address issues promptly to ensure normal operation.


What Should You Keep In Mind When Not Using The Chiller In Winter?
1. Drainage: Before long-term shutdown, drain the chiller to prevent freezing. Open the bottom drainage valve to let out all the cooling water. Remove the water pipes and internally drain by opening the water fill port and the valve. Then use a compressed air gun to thoroughly dry the internal pipes.
Note: Avoid blowing air at the joints where yellow labels are pasted above or on the side of the water inlet and outlet, as it may cause damage.
2. Storage: After draining and drying, reseal the chiller. It's recommended to temporarily store the equipment in a place that doesn't affect production. For water chillers exposed to the outdoors, consider measures such as wrapping the chiller with insulating materials to minimize temperature reduction and prevent dust and airborne moisture from entering the cooler.

1.Compressor

Compressor is the heart of the refrigeration system of the water chiller system. It is used to turn electric energy into mechanical energy and compresses the refrigerant. S&A Teyu attaches great importance to the selection of the compressor and all of its refrigeration based water chiller systems are equipped with compressors of famous brands, ensuring the refrigeration efficiency of the whole industrial water chiller system.





2.Condenser

Condenser serves to condense the high temperature refrigerant vapor which is from the compressor into liquid. During the process of condensation, the refrigerant needs to release heat, so it requires air to cool it down. For S&A Teyu water chiller systems, they all use cooling fans to take away the heat from the condenser.



3.Reducing device

When the refrigerant liquid runs into the reducing device, the pressure will turn from condensation pressure to evaporation pressure. Some of the liquid will become vapor. S&A Teyu refrigeration based water chiller system uses capillary as the reducing device. Since capillary doesn't have the adjustment function, it can not regulate the refrigerant flow that runs into the chiller compressor. Therefore, different industrial water chiller system will be charged with different types and different amounts of the refrigerants. Note that too much or too little refrigerant will affect the refrigeration performance.



4.Evaporator

The evaporator is used to turn the refrigerant liquid into vapor. In this process, the heat will be absorbed. Evaporator is an equipment that outputs cooling capacity. The delivered cooling capacity can cool down refrigerant liquid or air. S&A Teyu evaporators are all made by itself independently, which is the guarantee of the product quality.

The mini water chiller CW-5000 which cools CNC router is designed with air inlet and air outlet for the chiller’s own heat dissipation. The air inlets are on the left and right side of the CW5000 chiller. And the air outlet, i.e. the cooling fan, is on the back of the chiller. These spots must not be blocked and enough space should be around them. For detailed space, please check out the below diagram.
