The advantages of laser cladding technology and its configuration of industrial water chiller

Laser cladding technology often uses kilowatt-level fiber laser equipment, add the selected coating material on the surface of the coated substrate in different stuffing ways, and the coating material is melted simultaneously with the substrate surface through laser irradiation and rapidly solidified to form a surface coating with very low dilution and metallurgical bonding with the substrate material. Laser cladding technology is widely adopted in various fields such as engineering machinery, coal machinery, marine engineering, steel metallurgy, petroleum drilling, mold industry, automotive industry, etc.

 

Compared with traditional surface processing technology, laser cladding technology owns the following features and advantages:

1. Fast cooling speed(up to 10^6℃/s); Laser cladding technology is a rapid solidification process to obtain fine crystalline structure or produce new phase which can not be obtained under equilibrium state, such as unstationary phase, amorphous state, etc.

2. Coating dilution rate is less than 5%. Through the strong metallurgical bonding with the substrate or interfacial diffusion bonding to obtain a cladding layer with controllable coating composition and dilutability, ensuring good performance.

3. High power density cladding at fast heating speed has small heat input, heat affected zone and aberration on the substrate.

4. No restrictions on the powder selection. It can be clad on the low-melting-point metal surface with high-melting-point alloy.

5. The cladding layer features a great thickness and hardness range. Better performance with fewer micro defects on the layer.

6. The use of numerical control during technological processes enables contact-free automatic operation, which is convenient, flexible and controllable.
