A great amount of laser cutting technique is employed in elevator production

Today,we are going to talk about how laser technique is used in the elevator which is very common in construction industry.

In the past 10 years, industrial laser manufacturing equipment has already immersed in the production line of a wide variety of industries. In fact, the daily items are related to the laser technique. But since the production process is often not open to the crowd, many people don’t know the fact that laser technique is involved. Industries like construction industry, bathroom industry, furniture industry and food industry all have the trace of laser processing. Today, we are going to talk about how laser technique is used in the elevator which is very common in construction industry.

Elevator is a special equipment that originated in the western countries and is commonly used in high-rise buildings. And because of the invention of elevator, people living in high-rise buildings has become reality. To put it differently, elevator can be said as a transportation tool.

There are two kinds of elevators in the market. One is vertical lifting type and the other is escalator type. The vertical lifting type elevator is commonly seen in high-rise buildings like residential buildings and office buildings. As for escalator type elevator, it is commonly seen in supermarket and subway. The main structure of elevator includes chamber, traction system, control system, door, safety protection system, etc.. These components use a huge amount of steel plate. For example, for vertical lifting type elevator, its door and chamber are made from steel plate. As for escalator type elevator, its side panels are made from steel plate.

Elevator has certain ability to sustain gravity. Therefore, it is safe to use metal materials in the elevator production. In the past, elevator manufacturers often punching machines and other traditional machines to process steel plates. However, these kinds of processing techniques had low efficiency and requires post-processing like polishing, which is not good for the outer appearance of the elevator. And laser cutting machine, especially fiber laser cutting machine can greatly solve these problems. Fiber laser cutting machine can perform accurate and efficient cutting on steel plates of different thickness. It doesn’t require post-processing and the steel plates will not have any burr. The common steel that is used in elevator is 304 stainless steel with 0.8mm thickness. Some are even with 1.2mm thickness. With 2KW - 4KW fiber laser, the cutting can be done very easily.

To maintain the superior cutting effect of the fiber laser cutting machine, the fiber laser source must be under stable temperature range. Therefore, it is necessary to add a recirculating chiller to maintain the temperature. S&A Teyu CWFL series recirculating chillers are applicable to cool 0.5KW to 20KW fiber laser. The CWFL series chillers have one thing in common - they all have dual circuit and dual temperature control system. That means using one recirculating chiller can do the cooling job of two. The fiber laser and the laser head both be cooled down properly. Besides, some chiller models even support Modbus 485 communication protocol, so communication between the fiber laser and the chiller can become reality.
