Elevator is the equipment that transports people or cargo from between different floors and it is a MUST-HAVE equipment in tall buildings. As we all know, the common materials of elevator are stainless steel plate and materials with film. These materials require high standard brightness and cleanness. As the market demand increases, the new elevator development cycle becomes shorter. Besides, there are so many different kinds of sheet metal parts of elevator and some of them requirement customization. Traditional multi-station punching machines are difficult to meet the processing needs and it also takes a long time to build a mold, which prolongs the production time. In this circumstance, fiber laser cutting machine was invented and is gradually increasing its market share in the elevator market. So what is the difference between traditional processing technique and fiber laser cutting technique?

1.Traditional processing technique
It often refers to multi-station punching machine. This machine includes procedures like milling, shaving, drilling, grinding and these procedures require external force and harder tools to realize the cutting job. It’ s quite complicated and the parts can easily deform, wasting cost and labor.

2.CO2 laser processing
CO2 laser cutting machine was the first laser processing equipment used in domestic elevator industry. It uses non-mechanical energy like light and electricity to do the cutting job and can also realize hard material processing. Comparing with traditional processing, CO2 laser cutting machine is non-contact, ease of processing, safe and more environmental friendly.

3.Fiber laser processing
Elevator manufacturing mainly relies on about 3mm thick stainless steel. Using CO2 laser cutting machine will consume more electricity and more CO2 gas. What’s more, with disadvantages like high cost and complicated commissioning, CO2 laser cutting machine has fallen behind. On the contrary, fiber laser cutting machine has much faster speed with lower running cost and is able to cut highly reflective materials like copper and aluminum. Therefore, it is also gradually replacing CO2 laser cutting machine and becomes the first option in elevator manufacturing.

There are two parts of fiber laser cutting machine generate heat during operation - fiber laser source and laser head. To maintain these two components at a normal temperature range, many fiber laser cutting machine users would consider buying two separate chillers to do that. But in fact, there is a more cost-effective solution. S&A Teyu CWFL series air cooled recirculating water chiller features dual cooling circuit configurations, providing effective cooling for the fiber laser source and the laser head respectively and at the same time reducing the potential of condensation.
